Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Osman shone brightly in AZ Alkmaar’s commanding 9-1 victory over Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie, netting three goals and playing a key role in the emphatic win.
The former Ghana U17 winger continued his impressive form in the new season, marking his fifth league appearance in style during Saturday’s clash. Osman provided two assists for Troy Parrott, who went on to score four goals in a remarkable home performance by the former Eredivisie champions. Osman added to the scoreboard himself with a goal in the 72nd minute.
Sven Mijnans kicked off the scoring for AZ just four minutes into the match, but Heerenveen quickly leveled through Luuk Brouwers 15 minutes later. Parrott then took control, scoring four times within 33 minutes before goals from Sadiq, Mexx Meerdink, Kristijan Belic, and Zico Buurmeester sealed the dominant win for AZ Alkmaar.
Sadiq was substituted in the final 15 minutes, making way for Dutch-born Ghanaian Jayden Addai.
In goal, Dutch-Ghanaian Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro played the full match for AZ Alkmaar.
