Ghanaian teenage sensation Ilyas Ansah made a big impact off the bench to help Paderborn 07 secure a thrilling 3-1 victory over Darmstadt 98 in the German Bundesliga 2 on Sunday.
The 19-year-old Germany-born Ghanaian replaced Sebastian Klaas in the 79th minute and wasted no time in making his mark on the game. Just four minutes after coming on, Ansah scored the decisive goal to seal the win for Paderborn.
The match got off to a surprising start as Darmstadt took the lead through Oscar Vilhelmsson’s goal in the 7th minute. However, Paderborn staged an impressive comeback in the second half, with Sebastian Klaas equalizing in the 53rd minute before Ansah sealed the win.
Ansah’s impressive performance was just what his team needed to get back on track, and he will be looking to continue his fine form in future matches.
The Ghanaian teenager has already made a name for himself in German football, having started his youth career with various clubs including SC Lüdenscheid, VfL Bochum, Eintracht Dortmund, and Sportfreunde Siegen.
