Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo was in unstoppable form for Elfsborg in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Sunday, as his outfit cruised to a 2-1 home win over GAIS in the week 18 fixture.
The 25-year-old Ghanaian midfielder lasted the entire duration of the game, and made his mark on the score sheet with a goal in the 8th minute, firing home the match opener to give Elfsborg an early lead. However, GAIS responded quickly with an equalizer in the 14th minute, courtesy of Alexander Ahl Holmström.
But before the halftime break, Elfsborg found the back of the net again, with Anes Cardaklija’s own goal restoring their lead. Elfsborg went to recess with a 2-1 advantage, and despite being reduced to 10 men in the 66th minute, they showed resilience and determination to win the game.
Baidoo’s compatriots, Jalal Abdulai and Terry Yegbe were also involved in the game for Elfsborg, and together they secured a vital three points for their team.
