Ghanaian forward Sadat Karim found the back of the net as Al Washm were held to an entertaining 3-3 draw by Al Shoulla in the Saudi Second Division League on Saturday.
Karim set the tone early, opening the scoring in the 18th minute with a well-taken finish after a flowing team move at the Al Washm Club Stadium.
The hosts doubled their advantage shortly after the half-hour mark through Abdulaziz Al Suwailem, putting them firmly in control. However, Al Shoulla responded before the break, with Nidhal Ben Salem pulling one back to keep the contest alive heading into the second half.
The visitors returned strongly after the interval, as Wael Al Tas levelled the score in the 55th minute to make it 2-2.
Al Washm regained the lead late in the game when Abdulrahman Al Alawi finished calmly, seemingly putting the hosts on course for all three points. But in a dramatic twist, Al Tas struck again deep into stoppage time to secure a draw for Al Shoulla and deny Al Washm a vital home victory.
The result leaves Al Washm in fourth place on 45 points, keeping them firmly in the promotion race. They will now shift focus to their next league fixture against Afif, a crucial encounter as they aim to break into the top three.
