Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori has officially agreed to join AmaZulu FC, iDiski Times has confirmed.
The 30-year-old Ghanaian shot-stopper parted ways with Orlando Pirates at the end of the 2023/24 season after his contract expired and was not renewed.
During his time with the Buccaneers, Ofori enjoyed a successful spell, winning three MTN8 trophies and two Nedbank Cup titles. He made 58 appearances for the club, keeping an impressive 29 clean sheets while conceding only 35 goals.
Ofori, who has also represented Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, brings vast experience to AmaZulu’s goalkeeping ranks.
He will compete with Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Veli Mothwa and Olwethu Mzimela for the starting spot.
The Ghanaian joins AmaZulu as a free agent, a move permissible outside the official transfer window. His arrival is part of AmaZulu’s efforts to bolster their goalkeeping options ahead of the upcoming season.
