Ghanaian forward Malik Abubakari has signed a three-year contract with Danish Superliga club Lyngby Boldklub, arriving from Swedish champions Malmö FF.
Lyngby Boldklub’s football manager, Nicas Kjeldsen, expressed enthusiasm about the signing, noting Abubakari’s speed and his knack for making impactful deep runs. “As a striker, Malik has a really exciting package,” Kjeldsen stated. “He can give us some of what we’ve been missing on the front line in terms of some speed and some deep runs that we’ve been missing a little bit.”
Kjeldsen added that while Abubakari is not a direct replacement for Andri, he brings a similar presence to the field. “It is not a one-on-one replacement for Andri, although Malik has some of the same ‘presence’ on the court. But Malik gives us a few more strings to play on and fits in well with our way of playing,” he explained.
Abubakari will wear the number 9 jersey at his new club. A product of the Charity Stars youth academy, he previously had a loan spell in the Danish top flight with Viborg FF. Although he has not yet earned a senior cap for the Black Stars, his move to Lyngby Boldklub represents a significant advancement in his career.
