Hearts of Oak’s pre-season preparations were put to the test as they were held to a thrilling 3-3 draw by Bechem United in a friendly match played at the Pobiman Sports Complex on Wednesday afternoon.
The encounter provided both teams with valuable match practice ahead of the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
Bechem United took an early lead, but Hearts of Oak staged a remarkable comeback, with goals from Saani Mohammed, Isaac Frimpong, and Mawuli Wayo putting them in control. However, a late resurgence from Bechem United secured a share of the spoils, leaving the match ends level.
The match offered both technical teams the opportunity to assess their squads and make necessary adjustments ahead of the new season. Hearts of Oak, who narrowly escaped relegation last season, are undergoing a squad overhaul as they aim for improved performance in the upcoming campaign.
The new season will start on September 6, with Hearts of Oak facing Holy Stars and Bechem United taking on Nations FC.
