Semen Padang FC has officially announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Alhassan Wakaso as they prepare to participate in the 2024/2025 Muslim League 1 season.
The club confirmed Wakaso’s arrival through their official Instagram account on Monday evening, January 6 (WIB).
Wakaso, who previously represented Ghana in a match against Portugal, brings a wealth of experience from his time in European football. His professional career began on July 1, 2010, with Portuguese side Portimonense, where he spent four years. He then joined French Ligue 1 outfit FC Lorient but had a brief stint before moving to the Greek league.
His last European club was Ionikos Nikeas, where he played from January to July 2024. However, according to Transfermarkt, Wakaso had been without a club for five months before signing with Semen Padang FC.
