Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has admitted that his team will feel the absence of striker Albert Amoah if he is unable to recover in time for their Ghana Premier League clash against Vision FC.
The Porcupine Warriors are set to host Vision FC on January 17, 2024, in a crucial matchday 17 fixture of the domestic top-flight league.
Amoah, who has been instrumental in Kotoko’s attack, sustained an injury during their recent encounter with Medeama at the TNA Stadium.
Speaking after the match, Ogum acknowledged the forward’s importance to the team and the potential impact of his absence.
“Albert Amoah is a key player for us. We all know his contribution to our goalscoring department. His absence will certainly affect the team, but we are awaiting the results of the medical scans. If he’s unable to play in our next game, we will definitely miss him,” Ogum stated.
The 23-year-old striker has been in fine form this season, scoring seven goals in 12 Ghana Premier League appearances. His availability for the Vision FC game remains uncertain, leaving Kotoko fans anxious as the team looks to maintain their push for the league title.
