Ghanaian midfielder Amin Ziblim has completed a major career move after signing a three-year contract with Romanian top-flight giants CFR Cluj.
The 20-year-old joins the former Romanian champions as a free agent after ending his spell with second-tier side Muscelul Câmpulung, where he impressed during his debut season in European football.
Ziblim’s journey to the Romanian elite division began in 2024 when he moved from Ghanaian side MŠK Žilina Africa, the feeder club of Slovak outfit MŠK Žilina, to continue his development in Europe.
After joining Žilina, the talented central midfielder initially featured for the club’s reserve team but struggled to secure regular opportunities with the senior side. Seeking more playing time, he moved on loan to Muscelul Câmpulung, where he quickly established himself as an important figure in midfield.
During his time with the Romanian second-tier club, Ziblim made 20 league appearances, earning recognition for his technical ability, work rate and composure in the middle of the park.
His performances attracted the attention of CFR Cluj, who invited him for a trial at the end of the season. The Ghanaian impressed during pre-season training sessions with the first team and featured in a friendly match against Azerbaijani side Neftchi Baku, convincing the club’s technical team that he was worthy of a permanent contract.
Confirming the signing, CFR Cluj announced:
“We are happy to announce that, starting today, Amin Ziblim is our new player. Aged 20, Amin plays as a central midfielder.
“Last season, he played for Muscelul Câmpulung in the Second League, where he made 20 appearances. Formed at MŠK Žilina Africa, a satellite club of MŠK Žilina, Amin later made the step to Europe, playing for the team in Slovakia.
“Having been in trials since the team’s reunion, Amin trained with our team and played in the friendly match against Neftchi Baku. We wish him a warm welcome and many achievements with CFR Cluj.”
The move represents a significant breakthrough for Ziblim, who becomes one of the latest Ghanaian youngsters to make progress through the European football pathway.
CFR Cluj, one of Romania’s most successful clubs with multiple league titles and European competition experience, will provide the midfielder with a platform to compete at a higher level and continue his development.
Ziblim will now begin preparations for his first Romanian top-flight season as he looks to establish himself in the CFR Cluj squad and make a lasting impact in European football.
