Ghanaian forward Agnes Yeboah has completed a permanent transfer to Guangdong Meizhou Women Football Club, ending her successful spell with Jonina Ladies to begin a new adventure in the Chinese Women’s Super League.
The talented attacker joins the Chinese outfit for the second half of the 2026 season after finalising her move last week and completing all the necessary registration and contractual formalities.
Yeboah has been handed the No. 35 jersey at her new club and wasted little time making her first appearance, featuring for 53 minutes in Guangdong Meizhou’s league defeat to Sichuan Women over the weekend.
The 20-year-old leaves Ghana after establishing herself as one of the brightest young talents in the domestic women’s game. As captain of Jonina Ladies, she played a leading role in guiding the club to the semi-finals of the 2025/26 Ghana Women’s FA Cup, while consistently impressing with her performances in the Women’s Premier League.
Her impressive displays at club level also earned her a regular place in Ghana’s Black Princesses squad, helping the national U-20 team secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Poland later this year.
The move to China represents a major milestone in Yeboah’s career, providing her with the opportunity to test herself in one of Asia’s most competitive women’s leagues while continuing her development at the professional level.
Guangdong Meizhou identified the Ghanaian as a key reinforcement for the remainder of the campaign after monitoring her performances for both club and country.
Yeboah now becomes the latest Ghanaian footballer to ply her trade in the Chinese Women’s Super League, further highlighting the growing reputation of Ghanaian women’s football on the international stage.
