Ghanaian midfielder Bismark Ampofo delivered an impressive performance in FC Inter Turku’s 3-1 defeat to SJK in the Finnish Veikkausliiga on Friday afternoon.
Despite the loss, Ampofo made a significant impact by providing an assist.
Heading into the match, SJK had a slight edge in their head-to-head record with 15 wins, compared to FC Inter Turku’s 10 victories, while six matches had ended in draws. The game took place at OmaSP Stadion, with Ampofo in the starting lineup for FC Inter Turku, playing the entire match.
SJK controlled the possession and had more shots on goal. Inter Turku struck first, with Darren Smith scoring in the 4th minute thanks to an assist from Ampofo. However, SJK’s Jaime Moreno quickly equalized in the 16th minute.
Kasper Paananen restored SJK’s lead, assisted by Pyry Hannola, making it 2-1 in the same 16th minute. The first half concluded with SJK holding a 2-1 advantage. Both teams made several substitutions in the second half to try and change the game’s dynamic.
Rasmus Karjalainen sealed the win for SJK with a goal in the 75th minute, ending the match at 3-1.
Ampofo has made five appearances in the 2024 Finnish Veikkausliiga season and has recorded one assist so far.
