Ghana international Ibrahim Sulemana has expressed his joy after netting his debut goal for Atalanta in their 2-1 victory over AS Roma in Serie A.
The 21-year-old midfielder came off the bench in the 68th minute, replacing Mario Pašalić during the intense Week 36 clash on Monday night. Just minutes after entering the pitch, Sulemana made a big impact by scoring a stunning goal from outside the box. He reacted quickly to a loose ball near the edge of the Roma area and unleashed a powerful first-time strike that found the back of the net.
His goal proved to be the winner, helping Atalanta secure all three points in a crucial match that confirmed their qualification for the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League.
Taking to Instagram after the game, Sulemana shared his excitement with a short but meaningful message: “What a way to score your first goal.”
Earlier in the game, Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman had opened the scoring for Atalanta in the 9th minute, but AS Roma responded through Bryan Cristante, who equalized in the 32nd minute. Sulemana’s decisive goal ultimately sealed the win for the home side.
Despite dealing with injury setbacks this season, the former Cagliari player will be aiming to build on this performance as Atalanta prepare to face Genoa and Parma in their final two matches of the Serie A campaign.
