Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo maintained his stellar form for IF Elfsborg by scoring a crucial penalty in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Brommapojkarna on Sunday at Grimsta IP.
Baidoo, who came on as a substitute in the 60th minute, equalized for Elfsborg with a well-taken spot kick just eight minutes after his introduction.
The match saw Brommapojkarna take an early lead through Nikola Vasic in the 7th minute, but Rami Kaib restored balance for Elfsborg in the 28th minute. Alexander Timossi Andersson then put the hosts back in front before halftime with a goal in the 34th minute.
Baidoo’s penalty in the 68th minute briefly leveled the score, but Brommapojkarna regained the lead with another goal just before full time. Simon Hedlund scored a dramatic equalizer for Elfsborg in the 91st minute, securing a hard-fought point.
Baidoo has been a standout performer for Elfsborg this season, with eight goals and four assists in 19 league appearances, and has also made significant contributions in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers. His teammates, Jalal Abdulai and Terry Yegbe, played the full match alongside him.
