Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim played a key role in SK Slovan Bratislava’s 3-1 win over FK Železiarne Podbrezová in the Slovak Niké Liga on Sunday, delivering a strong performance after coming off the bench.
The 22-year-old entered the game in the second half and made an immediate impact, scoring Slovan’s second goal in the 69th minute to help secure the victory. This marks his second goal of the season since joining the Slovak champions from AS Trenčín in February 2025.
After a goalless first half, the game sprang to life in the second. Slovan’s experienced forward, Vladimir Weiss, opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 57th minute. Ibrahim extended the lead shortly after with a composed finish, before David Strelec added a third goal in the 77th minute.
Podbrezová managed to pull one back in the 84th minute through Samuel Štefánik, but it proved to be only a consolation as Slovan held on comfortably for all three points.
Ibrahim’s impressive display underlined his rising influence in the team. Since his arrival, he has impressed with his energy, vision, and calm presence in midfield, earning the trust of head coach Vladimír Weiss.
The victory keeps Slovan Bratislava at the top of the league with 69 points, as they edge closer to another domestic title.
