Ghanaian midfielder Rashid Abubakar has secured a permanent move to FC Ordabasy , the reigning champions of Kazakhstan.
The 24-year-old completed the transfer from Moldovan side CSF Spartanii Sportul Selemet, just five months after joining the club in September of last year.
During his brief spell in Moldova, Abubakar delivered impressive performances, netting two goals in eight league matches. His standout displays attracted the attention of FC Ordabasy, who claimed the Kazakhstani league title in 2023.
Abubakar’s football journey began with Accra Lions FC in Ghana, where he laid the foundation for his career before venturing abroad. Over the years, he has played in multiple countries, including Libya, Oman, Serbia, Bosnia, and China.
His international career started with Libyan club Al Suqoor, followed by a stint with Bahla Club in Oman. Abubakar later moved to Serbia, joining FK Loznica after a spell with FK Sarajevo, one of Bosnia’s top-tier teams.
In 2021, he was loaned to Heilongjiang Ice City in China, where he played for three months. After leaving Bahla Club, he signed a free transfer deal with Spartanii in Moldova, where he quickly established himself as a key player.
Joining FC Ordabasy represents a significant milestone in Abubakar’s career, as he now aims to make an impact with the Kazakhstani champions.
