Ghanaian promising midfeilder Gideon Yiriyon has expressed excitement following his transfer move to Degerfors IF.
The 18-year-old midfielder, has completed a loan move to Swedish side Degerfors IF from Inter Allies, with the deal including an option for a permanent transfer.
The promising youngster makes the switch after an impressive loan spell with Umeå FC, where he featured in 12 matches and provided two assists, catching the attention of clubs in Sweden’s top football circles.
Meanwhile, Patrik Werner is also pleased with the Ghanaian youngster’s signing. “Yiriyon is a young, exciting midfielder who we have followed closely during the autumn in Umeå. He has impressed greatly in Superettan and plays very maturely for his age,”. Patrik Werner said.
“He works hard over large areas, contributes a lot in the game without the ball and is a skilled passer. It will be very exciting to see him in our environment.” he concluded.
Gideon Yiriyon has also made his mark on the international stage, representing Ghana at the Under-17 level, where his performances highlighted his technical ability and maturity beyond his age.
The move to Degerfors IF is expected to offer the talented midfielder greater exposure and regular competitive football as he continues his development in European football.
