Ghanaian striker Akwasi Asante has been named in the Vanarama English National League Team of the Week after scoring in Chesterfield’s win against Eastleigh on Monday.
The 28-year old Dutch-born Ghanaian forward scored the winner in the 85th minute after being assisted by Nathan Tyson.
Meanwhile, Asante has signed a new contract with the English National League side.
The initial deal of the 28-year-old was due to expire in 2022 but he has now extended it to June 30, 2024 as he continues his fine form in the English fifth tier.
The former Birmingham City attacker has netted ten goals in fourteen league games for Chesterfield so far this campaign.
