Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo showcased his talent for Bournemouth in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Newcastle United on Saturday.
The match remained goalless in the first half, but Dominic Solanke broke the deadlock for Bournemouth in the 51st minute, capitalizing on a mistake by Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.
Newcastle swiftly responded with Anthony Gordon converting a controversial penalty just seven minutes later to level the score.
In the 82nd minute, Semenyo stole the show with a spectacular goal from outside the penalty area, seemingly putting Bournemouth ahead. However, former Bournemouth player Matt Ritchie dashed their hopes with an equalizer in the 85th minute, salvaging a point for Newcastle.
Despite the draw, Bournemouth moved nine points clear of the relegation zone, while Newcastle maintained their seventh-place position in the table.
Semenyo, who recently represented Ghana in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), has been a key contributor for Bournemouth this season, making 22 appearances and scoring four goals.
