In the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification, Ghanaian youngster Joseph Amoah made his mark on the scoresheet as his team FK Zeljeznicar battled to a 2-2 draw against Neftchi Baku.
The 21-year-old started the game and showcased an impressive performance, scoring one of the goals for his side in the thrilling encounter. However, he was substituted at half time, not playing the full duration of the match.
The Bosnian club took the lead in the 14th minute through forward Dzenan Haracic, but Neftchi Baku drew level with an own goal from Aleksandar Kosoric. Just before half time, the Ghanaian attacker, Joseph Amoah, found the back of the net, giving his team the lead.
FK Zeljeznicar came close to securing a victory on home turf, but a stoppage-time goal from substitute Rahman Hadzhiyev ensured that Neftchi Baku returned home with a point.
The second leg of this tie is scheduled for August 3, 2023, with Neftchi hosting Zeljeznicar at the Bakcell Arena in Baku.
