Former Asante Kotoko head coach Seydou Zerbo Krol has spoken highly of midfielder Justice Blay, whom he considers the best player he worked with during his time at the club. Zerbo praised Blay for his exceptional qualities and versatility on the field.
Zerbo was appointed as the Head Coach of Asante Kotoko for the 2022/23 football season, taking over from Prosper Narteh Ogum, who had led the club to win the Premier League title in the previous season. However, Zerbo’s tenure fell short of expectations, and he was eventually dismissed from his position.
During his time at the club, Zerbo had the opportunity to manage several talented players. Among them, he singled out Justice Blay for special praise, acknowledging the midfielder’s ability to excel in various roles within the team.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Fox FM, Seydou Zerbo expressed his admiration for Justice Blay, describing him as a versatile player capable of executing the coach’s strategies effectively.
“My best player at Kotoko was Justice Blay. What a player he was. He is a versatile player who is capable of executing my roles in the team. He was my best player,” Seydou Zerbo told Kumasi-based Fox FM in an interiew.
Despite Blay’s unfortunate string of injuries during the 2022/23 season, which affected his consistency, he managed to make 17 appearances for the Porcupines.
“It is rather unfortunate that he (Blay) has not been lucky as he gets injured frequently. Despite that, he was the best footballer in my team at Kotoko,” Zerbo added.
Despite the setbacks, Zerbo still regarded him as the best footballer in his team at Kotoko.
