Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has earned a nomination for the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for December 2023.

Kudus showcased outstanding performances during the final month of the previous year, contributing significantly to West Ham United’s success with four wins and a draw from six Premier League fixtures.

Kudus’ impressive goal-scoring feats included opening the scoring in a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace early in December. In that match, the 23-year-old displayed composure inside the box, converting Vladimír Coufal’s first-time pass into a cool finish to give West Ham the lead.

The No14 continued his goal-scoring prowess with a brace in the 3-0 home victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. In this match, he first broke through on the counter-attack, sliding past goalkeeper Dan Bentley from 20 yards. Kudus then calmly slotted home his second after receiving a well-timed Lucas Paquetá through ball.

A week later, Kudus secured another victory with a remarkable goal in the 2-0 win against Manchester United at London Stadium. Receiving the ball from Paquetá once again, Kudus struck a fantastic effort with his right foot into the bottom corner, sealing three points for West Ham.

Other nominees for the December award include AFC Bournemouth duo Dominic Solanke and Marcos Senesi, Cole Palmer of Chelsea, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Wolves’ Matheus Cunha, Michael Olise of Crystal Palace, and Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min.
