Ghanaian prodigy Edmund Baidoo delivered a standout performance by providing an assist in Red Bull Salzburg U-19’s 3-2 triumph over Sparta Praha U-19 in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday afternoon.
Baidoo, who started the match, made an immediate impact by setting up Salzburg’s opening goal in the 7th minute. After receiving a precise pass from Marc Striednig, Baidoo expertly evaded the Sparta defense and delivered a perfect cross to Kenneth, who finished with composure.
Sparta Praha equalized in the 52nd minute, but Salzburg quickly regained control. Striednig scored a stunning goal in the 55th minute to restore Salzburg’s lead. Zeteny Jano, coming off the bench, added a third goal for Salzburg in the 64th minute.
Despite a late goal from Sparta’s Mokrovics in the 67th minute, Salzburg held on for the win. Baidoo’s assist proved pivotal in securing the victory. Salzburg U-19 will next face Brest U-19 on October 1st.
