On Monday at Stade de Geneve, Ghanaian youngster Ernest Opoku scored two goals to help his team, AZ Alkmaar U19, win the UEFA Youth League title with a 5-0 victory over HNK Hajduk U19.
Fellow Ghanaian Jayden Addai also contributed a goal in the one-sided match. Addai opened the scoring with a penalty in the 45th minute after a foul by Hajduk’s defense on Poku.
The game remained evenly contested until the 70th minute when Poku scored two goals in six minutes to give AZ Alkmaar a commanding lead.
Mexx Meerdink added two more goals in the 79th and 87th minute to complete the rout.
Ernest Poku has scored eight goals in nine games in the UEFA Youth League, while Jayden Addai has scored four goals in eight matches.
