English-born Ghanaian winger Abu Kamara has completed a permanent transfer to Championship side Portsmouth from Hull City in a deal reportedly worth £2.5 million.
The 23-year-old returns to Portsmouth after previously enjoying a successful loan spell with the club and is expected to play an important role as Pompey prepare for the new Championship campaign.
Kamara joined Hull City from Norwich City in August 2024 and made 37 appearances, scoring five goals during his first season with the Tigers.
He featured in Hull’s opening three matches of the 2025/26 campaign before moving to Spanish club Getafe on loan, where he made 16 appearances.
His return to Portsmouth sees him reunite with a club where he previously excelled. During his earlier loan spell, Kamara registered 10 goals and 11 assists in 52 appearances.
He was also ever-present during the 2023/24 League One season, featuring in every league match as Portsmouth secured the title and promotion to the Championship.
Now back on a permanent basis, Kamara will be hoping to reproduce his previous form and help Portsmouth compete strongly in the Championship.
