Dutch-born Ghanaian forward, Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere, has been recognized for his outstanding performance by securing a place in Sofascore’s Chinese Super League Team of the Week.
Owusu-Sekyere showcased his prowess on the field by scoring for Zhejiang Professional despite their defeat to Qingdao West Coast in the Chinese Super League clash held at the Yellow Dragon Sports Center Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
In a match where Zhejiang faced an uphill battle, Owusu-Sekyere emerged as a standout performer, providing a glimmer of hope for his team.
The talented attacker found the back of the net in the 50th minute with a well-placed right-footed shot from close range, skillfully assisted by Sun Guowen’s header, temporarily leveling the scoreline.
Despite his efforts, Zhejiang ultimately succumbed to defeat as Qingdao secured victory with a second goal from Nelson da Luz in the 66th minute.
Owusu-Sekyere’s consistent contributions have been pivotal for Zhejiang in the 2024 Chinese Super League, where he has already notched two goals in four appearances.
