Second-half substitute Christian Boothe‘s 83rd-minute goal sealed a 2-2 draw for Leicester City’s Under-18s against Aston Villa on Saturday with Ghanaian prospect Charles Owusu regiatering his name on the score sheet in their U18 Premier League fixture.

Jack McGrath had the visitors in front inside just five minutes at LCFC Training Ground, but Leicester City’s U18s have shown their resilience on several occasions already this season.

Bismark Owusu got Leicester back level on 37 minutes in Seagrave, and although Villa once again led through Elijah Briscoe, the young Foxes continued to battle for a U18 Premier League point.

Just as it seemed defeat was on the cards for the side coached by Adam Barradell, up stepped Boothe to rescue a point with seven minutes remaining.

This draw leaves the young Foxes sixth in the U18 Premier League South, on 24 points, with West Ham United away coming up next Saturday (12pm GMT kick-off).

The details:

City: Marson, Diallo, Adedeji, Simons (Fletcher 45′), Toko, Owusu, W. Lawrence, Corden (Colangelo-Allen 67′), Manyumba, De Lisle (Boothe 76′), Anugo (Aideed 80′).

Sub not used: H. Lawrence.

Goals: Owusu 37′, Boothe 83′.
