Swedish giants Malmo FF have made a significant addition to their youth squad by signing Ghanaian youngster Israel Anum.
The 17-year-old center-back has joined the club from the renowned Right to Dream Academy and is expected to continue his development at the club.
Anum, who will feature for the club’s U19 side, impressed during a successful trial with the club. In an interview, he expressed his excitement to join the club and start his journey with Malmo FF.
“I am so happy to come to Malmo, it is a big club that is doing very well, that plays in Europe. It’s a great feeling to be here and I’m looking forward to getting started,” he said.
The Ghanaian youngster described himself as an aggressive, leading player who loves helping his teammates. He believes that Malmo FF is a fantastic club that will give him great opportunities to develop as a player.
Malmo FF chief scout Jeffrey Aubynn has hailed the acquisition of the Ghanaian young center-back. Aubynn has been following Anum’s progress in Ghana and is impressed with his skills and abilities.
“Israel is a player I have been down and watched in Ghana. A modern centre-back in the sense that he may not be the typical big centre-back but he is more athletic, very mobile, fast, quick, incredibly resilient and well-trained. He has received a great education in the Right to Dream Academy,” he said.
