Josh-Kofi Acheampong, a promising Ghanaian defender, has inked his first professional contract with Chelsea FC.
Having joined Chelsea as an Under-8, Acheampong has navigated through the youth ranks at Cobham, showcasing his versatility as a defender.
This season, he has been a consistent presence in the Under-18s and has also made appearances for the Under-21s.
Expressing the club’s enthusiasm, Head of Youth Development and Recruitment, Jim Fraser, stated, “We are thrilled that Josh has committed his future to the club. He has taken another step forward in his development this season, something reflected in his performances for club and country.”
Turning 17 in May, Acheampong notably represented England Under-17 at the European Championships during the summer and participated in the World Cup in November.
He is also eligible to play for Ghana.
