Ghanaian forward Zubairu Ibrahim has made history this year as the youngest Ghanaian to score six goals in the Serbian SuperLiga since 2000.
The 19-year-old achieved this remarkable feat while playing for Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade, showcasing his immense talent and potential in the top-flight league.
Zubairu, who signed a four-year deal with Partizan in June 2024, marked his return to action on Saturday during the second week of the Serbian league against Jedinstvo. His consistent performances have earned him widespread recognition, setting the stage for a promising future.
Reflecting on his journey, Zubairu started his football career with Barcelona Babies before making his senior debut for King Faisal at just 16 in 2020. During his two seasons in the Ghana Premier League, he appeared in 47 matches and scored 14 goals, solidifying his reputation as a rising star.
In September 2022, he moved to Serbia, joining Jedinstvo Ub. His partnership with fellow Ghanaian Kwaku Karikari played a pivotal role in securing Jedinstvo’s promotion to the Serbian top-flight for the first time in the club’s history.
Zubairu’s transfer to Partizan Belgrade in 2024, for a reported fee of €500,000, marked a significant step in his career. His exceptional form in the Serbian SuperLiga highlights his growth and underscores his potential to become one of Ghana’s brightest football talents.
