Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan believes every single Ghanaian feels this is the right time for the Black Stars team to avenge the painful defeat to Uruguay 12 years ago.

Ghana lost to the South American side on penalty shootouts after a nerve-wracking 1-1 draw after extra time at the World Cup in South Africa in 2010.

Gyan, who had a great opportunity to send Ghana through to the semi-final of the world cup missed the golden chance when he hit the cross bar from 12-yards out believes it is time to go for the revenge.

And according to him, “everyone in Ghana is waiting for the game against Uruguay because of what happened in 2010. We feel like it is our opportunity to get a revenge.” Gyan told talksport and online sports radio.

Gyan scored six goals in three FIFA World Cup tournament between 2006 and 2014 and is the African player with most goals at the Mundial.

Ghana will start their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign with a game against European giant Portugal on November 24 at Stadium 974 in Doha.

Four days later, the Black Stars return to action with a clash against the Asian powerhouse South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.

The Black Stars who are making their fourth FIFA appearance will end their group stage campaign with a clash against Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.
