Ghanaian international Kingsley Sarfo, has expressed excitement after being crowned the best midfielder in Cyprus during the 2022/23 season.

The former Malmo FF star, was named the overall best midfielder in the Cypriot Elite league following his impressive performance for APOEL.

The 28-year old attacking midfielder, has been constant top performer in the Cypriot top-flight, winning numerous awards of the last three years.

With twenty-nine (29) appearances so far this season with one goal, Sarfo also emerged the overall third best player of the 2022/23 season.

In a brief chat with Sportsworldghana.com after winning the prestigious award, Sarfo said: “It’s an honour to win this award again. This is clearly an evidence of my performance in the league and I feel so happy about this achievement. I always want to be the best on the pitch anytime I am given the chance to play,”

He added that: “I want to improve my performance every season, therefore I will put in much effort to ensure I perform better than what I did this season with APOEL to make fans of the club and Ghanaians all happy.”

His outstanding continuous performance could earned him a call-up to the Black Stars team by new manager Chris Hughton who wants to parade a title winning team for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.
