Ajax starboy Mohammed Kudus believes his new position in the club under John Heitinga is beneficial to his growth.
Heitinga has used the 22-year-old as a right winger since temporarily taking over the Ajax head coaching position.
The Ghanaian has held a variety of positions for the Dutch team since joining them in 2020, with the most recent one being striker under Alfred Schreuder.
Since Heitinga’s appointment, Kudus has been directly in three goals, and he said the new position is crucial to his growth as a player.
“It’s a new position for me, but the most important thing is that I get the freedom to play the way I want to play,” he said.
“The coach gives me that freedom. I don’t feel limited and do my best for the team. It is a new position for me and therefore also good for my development. We also sometimes switch positions. That also makes us unpredictable as a team.”
Kudus has 13 goals and three assists this season for Ajax in 27 appearances.
