Ajax interim boss John Heitinga has showered praise on Black Stars star man Mohammed Kudus following the player’s match-winning goal against FC Twente.
The 22-year-old scored the only goal of the game as Ajax won the game to advance to the quarterfinals of the Dutch Cup away from home.
The goal was Kudus’ second under Heitinga, who was brought in following the sacking of Alfred Schreuder. Since taking over, Kudus has started in the last three games being involved in three goals in the process.
With his rich vein of form, Heitinga only had good words for the Ghanaian.
“In these top matches where it’s difficult to play against a strong opponent, it’s the special players who rise to the occasion,” he told Voetbal International.
“You can see that with Mo [Kudus]. He only needs one moment of genius and he’s able to decide a game for you.”
Kudus has 13 goals and three assists in all competitions this season for Ajax.
