Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey delivered an impressive performance, playing a key role in Arsenal’s victory in their 2024/25 Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Black Stars midfielder completed the full 90 minutes as the Gunners secured a comfortable 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Germany’s Kai Havertz broke the deadlock midway through the first half, heading in a pinpoint cross from Bukayo Saka. Havertz later turned provider, setting up Saka for Arsenal’s second goal, which originated from a quick free-kick taken by Partey.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be eager for Partey to remain fit throughout the season, as the club aims to end their 21-year wait for a Premier League title.

Partey will be satisfied with both his performance and the team’s victory as they prepare for an upcoming fixture against Aston Villa. He is also expected to lead the Black Stars in September’s crucial AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
