Ghana striker Gilbert Koomson was in top form after securing Glimt’s first cup final in almost twenty years on Thursday night in Norway.
Bodø / Glimt defeated Viking 2-1 on Thursday night and secured their sixth cup final place of all time. Bodø / Glimt travels to Ullevaal where they meet Molde on 1 May for the ultimate title.
His goal secured Glimt’s first cup final in almost twenty years. The last time Glimt was at Ullevaal on the cup final day was in 2003 when they lost 3-1 to Rosenborg.
The Ghanaian forward, Lynvingen snuck in front of a post from Ola Solbakken and decided the match towards the end of the first half.
“It was a good ball from Solbakken and I am happy that he is a fantastic player who has done better from last year to this year. The coaches have given me the opportunity, so I have to show myself and do my best for the club. My potential is good, and I work hard at it and I think it will get better and better, he told glimt.no after the match,” said Koomson speaking to glimt.no after the win.
Commenting further about the tenacity of the game, the Ghanaian international said, “Glimt struggled against Viking for large parts of the match, and the reigning cup champion made it difficult for Glimt throughout the settlement.”
“I’m very well now. We made a good match and Viking was a tough team and we did our best to deal with them”
“It was a good goal, but it all depends on how hard I work every day and the races I did become the goal. I am happy with the races and will continue to work hard,” Koomson added.
“It will be very good because the club will achieve more trophies, and go far and go further for the fans and for the city so that they are happy. I think the fact that we won the league in the last two years means that people now expect more trophies. It’s good for the city, the fans and us.” He concluded.
