Accra Hearts of Oak SC head coach Slavko Matic says Bibiani Gold Stars FC didn’t go to Accra to play football after Saturday’s clash.
The Serbian gaffer believes that the opponent only came to the capital to play delay tactics against the Phobians at the Accra Sports Stadium.
According to him, this only happened because his players allowed the opponent to do so by conceding a cheap goal early in the game.
“ The players allowed the opponent to come into the game, we conceded an avoidable goal early in the game. This made things very complicated and difficult for the team. I will however praise the players for the character they exhibited on the field of play.”
“They kept chasing for the three points and they played their hearts out until they got their rhythm and equalized. That is the kind of team work and enthusiasm we will always demand from the players”.
Matic was surprised GoldStars resorted to time wasting after the early goal from their skipper, Prince Opoku.
“The GoldStars team didn’t want to play football. A lot of time wasting from them. That was a very negative attitude. In my opinion this is not the way to improve football”.
He added that “overall a total of 40 minutes was used in playing the game. The remaining 50 was time wasting”.
