Newly appointed Accra Hearts of Oak SC head coach Slavko Matic has described his players as warriors after their impressive win over Gold Stars FC on Saturday afternoon.
The Phobians came from a goal down to beat the Green and Yellow Miners 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium under the new coach.
Matic guided the Rainbow Boys to win their first game of the season in the Ghana Premier League after failing three times under sacked Samuel Boadu.
The ecstatic coach described the the players as brave after the managed to turn the game around to pick a vital win on his GPL debut.
“They were warriors and brave on the pitch despite the antics of their opposition.”
“Very important that we won and the way we wanted to play, you saw Gold Stars from the first minute they started wasting our time”
“We didn’t play today 40 minutes in total and I think football won today and the character of my boys”
“They feel the pressure of course and when you receive this cheap goal, things start to be more difficult”
“But after the goal we immediately changed formation from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2, the most important thing is the win for my players”, the boss ended
We will travel to Cape Coast to take on newbies, Kotoku Royals in our next league fixture.
