Aduana Stars continued their great win over Accra Hearts of Oak on MD30 with a 1-0 win at Nana Agyeman Badu l Park in Dormaa Ahenkro on Saturday afternoon.
The Ogya Boys’ head coach Yaw Acheampong promised a fight for the title last Sunday after beating Hearts of Oak in Accra. His side’s narrow win over Nations FC means they are on course for the title challenge with just three games to end the season.
It was an open game with both teams showing huge intent to win the three points. The first half went goalless with both teams failing to take the lead.
Yussif Chibsah’s 55th-minute strike was enough to make the difference between the two teams.
Aduana Stars are now six points behind the league leaders Samartex after playing 31 games.
Nations FC on the other hand sits third on the log with seven points behind Samartex. The defeat has almost ended Kasim Ocansey Mingle and Johnson Smith’s dream of winning the Ghana Premier League with Nations FC.
Samartex travels to Kpando on Sunday afternoon to face Heart of Lions. A win for Nurudeen Amadu’s side will put them in a very comfortable lead for the title.
