Dan Quaye, a former Hearts of Oak defender and ex-Ghana international, has thrown his support behind head coach Didi Dramani over the club’s decision to rotate goalkeepers this season.

The Hearts of Oak coach has, in recent weeks, shared goalkeeping duties between Benjamin Asare and Solomon Agbasi, a move that has sparked discussions among fans. Both goalkeepers have delivered strong performances whenever called upon.

Over the weekend, Asare was rested as Dramani handed a starting role to Agbasi in Hearts of Oak’s goalless draw against their opponents. Agbasi rose to the occasion, making key saves to help the Phobians avoid defeat and secure a valuable point.

Speaking on radio, Dan Quaye explained that the rotation policy is a smart decision, noting that Benjamin Asare cannot play every match in a long and demanding season. He pointed out that competition for places keeps players sharp and improves overall team performance.

Quaye also recalled similar goalkeeper competitions in the past at Hearts of Oak, stressing that such arrangements did not harm the team or the national side. He added that Solomon Agbasi has shown quality and deserves opportunities to play.

According to him, the goalkeeper rotation will not affect Hearts of Oak or the Black Stars, but rather help maintain fitness, confidence, and consistency throughout the season.
