Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over Port City FC in their Ghana Premier League Week Six encounter at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Frank Duku scored the only goal of the match after 20 minutes to hand the Phobians all three points and bring an end to their three-game winless run.
The victory was an important response from Hearts, who had struggled to maintain their impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign after winning their opening two matches.
Head coach Nebojša Kapor had urged his players to improve their performance ahead of the encounter, acknowledging the quality within the Port City squad and warning against underestimating the newly promoted side.
Port City arrived at the University of Ghana Stadium in high spirits after beating Bechem United in their previous outing. Their encouraging start to the season had lifted them above Hearts of Oak in the league standings before the meeting.
However, Duku’s 20th-minute strike proved decisive as Hearts secured a much-needed victory against the newcomers.
The result gives the Phobians renewed confidence as they seek to build consistency and strengthen their position in the league table.
For Port City, the defeat ends their latest positive run, leaving them to regroup ahead of their next fixture.
Hearts will now aim to build on the victory and sustain their momentum as the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season continues.
