Dreams FC will do battle with former champions Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday.

Dreams FC have two outstanding games against Nations FC and Bechem United following their participation in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

The Still Believe lads go into the game buoyed by their impressive 2-0 win over Nsoatreman FC on Sunday. The Dawu based club have won three, lost one and drawn one in their last 5 games – accumulated 25 points and sit in 11th place in the table. Dreams FC have recorded 17 points, scored 13 and conceded 6 goals at home.

Accra Hearts of Oak are unbeaten in their last 5 league games and are currently 8th in the table with 28 points after 20 rounds of Premier League games.

The Phobians have accumulated 11 points on the road – scored 7 and conceded 8 goals – holding the record as the second side with most away points behind Asante Kotoko.

Accra Hearts of Oak were off to a flying start to the second half of the season until they were held by Bofoakwa Tano on Monday – having started the round with two wins on the spin against Real Tamale United (3-0) and Nsoatreman FC (2-1).

Dreams FC have hosted Accra Hearts of Oak three times since 2020/21 season with Dreams FC winning one and drawing two. Dreams FC beat Hearts of Oak 2-0, in 2020/21, drew 2-2 in the 2021/22 season before holding out for a goalless draw in in the 2022/23 season.

Dreams FC will be without youngsters Abdul Aziz Issah and Ofori McCarthy following their involvement in the ongoing African Games with the Black Satellites.

Coach Abdul Karim Zito is expected to field a strong side that comprises Agyenim Boateng Mensah, Derrick Agyei, Godfred Atuahene, Benjamin Bature, Eric Boateng, Emmanuel Danquah, Abdul Jalilu, Sulemana Suhiyini and Sylvester Simba.

Accra Hearts of Oak top scorer Hamza Issah is expected to line up against Dreams FC after missing the game against Bofoakwa Tano on Monday. Also featuring for the Phobians are Salifu Ibrahim, Cisse Kassim, Denis Korsah, Linda Mtange, Thomas Winimi, Glid Otanga, Issah Kuka, Yaw Baafi, Kofi Agbesimah and Salim Adams.

The game will broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 at 6pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
