Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama, and Asante Kotoko are poised to compete for the signature of Black Meteors midfielder Dominic Nsobila.
Reports indicate that Asante Kotoko has been tracking Nsobila for the upcoming season, but internal challenges within the club could potentially hinder any potential deal for the Accra Lions player. Medeama has now entered the race for the talented midfielder, adding another dimension to the pursuit.
Nsobila has established himself as one of the standout players in the Ghana Premier League over the past two seasons. The 20-year-old has already attracted interest from Asante Kotoko in the past, but a move failed to materialize.
Although Kotoko doesn’t appear to be suffering from midfield problems, they are reportedly keen on securing exceptional talents ahead of the 2023-2024 season.
Kotoko is currently in the process of appointing a permanent head coach following the departure of Seydou Zerbo. Names like C.K Akonnor, Akwesi Appiah, Bashir Hayford, and Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum have been linked to the managerial position.
Despite these circumstances and their potential impact, Asante Kotoko has identified reinforcements, with Dominic Nsobila being one of their targets.
Nsobila, who is currently with the Black Meteors camp for the AFCON U-23, has also caught the attention of Tanzanian side Young Africans. Medeama Sporting Club, on the other hand, is monitoring several players ahead of their CAF Champions League campaign. Earlier this week, they were linked with Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey and are said to be keeping an eye on Nsobila as well.
Medeama is prepared to go head-to-head with Asante Kotoko in the pursuit of Nsobila. The club is considered favorites to secure the services of the midfielder, who is seeking a fresh challenge away from Accra Lions for the upcoming season.
