1. Can Kpando do one huge favour of Heart of Lions?

Kpando has been a great place for Heart of Lions after going unbeaten in their last 9 matches at home. They have won 7 and drawn 2 helping them move out of the relegation zone. These statistics are unbelievable considering how Heart of Lions struggled before Bashir Hayford took charge. With two points ahead of the 16th placed Accra Great Olympics, a win over league leaders Samartex will be so refreshing for Heart of Lions. The battle to stay in the league is still not complete as their competitors are all determined to avoid relegation but with Kpando Sports Stadium behind Heart of Lions, they can fancy their chances to stay in the league.

2. Draw in Dormaa Ahenkro can hand almost decide the title

It’s second against 3rd place as both teams still believe that they can pip the runaway leaders Samartex for the title, according to their head coaches. Aduana Stars won in Accra in Week 30 and Nations FC also defeated Accra Lions with both teams showing their seriousness for the title. They come head to head on Sunday to fight for the three points. A drawn game and a win for Samartex in Kpando against Heart of Lions will give the Timber Giants a 95% chance of winning the league.

3. The most unimpactful Super  Clash ever?

It’s the Super Clash on Sunday but it seems many are not even aware of it. This is the sorry state of once the biggest fixture of the African continent. Asante Kotoko will welcome Accra Hearts of Oak to Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday afternoon. The only thing at stake is the bragging rights because none of the teams will finish within the top four or in the relegation zone. Sunday’s Super Clash will probably have no impact on the league. The two giants of Ghanaian football have endured a very horrible season and wish the season would end quicker for them to forget about their woes.

4. Can the former Ghana president’s donation lift RTU?

RTU needed a huge financial lift and the former president has come to their aid. On Wednesday, the flag bearer of NDC, John Mahama donated 100k cedis to the struggling RTU. The ex-president’s reason for the donation is to see his beloved RTU beat relegation. RTU sits bottom of the Ghana Premier League trailing by 5 points to beat the drop zone albeit with one game in hand. On Sunday, Real Tamale United will host Legon Cities and it is a must-win. The Tamale-based club expects John Mahama’s donation to lift them.

5. Bofoakwa Tano must beat Medeama SC to ease relegation fears

With just two points to move out of the relegation zone, Tano Boafoakwa must conjure the magic they conjured in the semi-finals of the MTN FA Cup win over Dreams FC to have a better chance of avoiding the drop. It is the penultimate home game of the 2023-24 season and Bofoakwa can’t afford to slip. The Sunyani-based club had gone 6 games unbeaten in all competitions before collapsing calamitously at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samraboi in Week 30 of the Ghana Premier as they got thrashed 3-0 by the league leaders. Bofoakwa’s last three games in the GPL after Sunday’s tie against Samartex are very tricky ones. They will travel to Legon cities, then host Berekum Chelsea and finally travel to Asante Kotoko in Kumasi to finish their season. Bofoakwa have to win on Sunday else they will be in a huge mess.
