Ghanaian goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott has received plaudits from Charlton Athletic Under 21 coach Danny Senda for his performances as the Black Stars shot-stopper returned from injury.
Wollacott, who was born in Bristol, played the full 2-1 friendly victory by Charlton Athletic’s U-21 squad over AFC Bournemouth.
Wollacott suffered a finger injury during warm-ups just days before the Black Stars’ final 26-man roster for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup was announced.
Senda emphasised Wollacott’s performance in the friendly game triumph as he makes his comeback from the injury, which forced him to miss Ghana’s fourth World Cup appearance.
“Jojo had a really, really calming influence behind the back three. He made really good decisions and that enabled us to take control of the game with his ability to build. He pulled off a really good, point-blank save for us midway through the second half, which was a critical moment in the game” Senda said as quoted by Charlton’s official website.
