Heart of Lions coach, Bashir Hayford, is optimistic about his team’s chances of securing maximum points against Bibiani Goldstars in matchday 23 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Lions will host Goldstars at the Kpando Stadium on Sunday in what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter, with both teams eager to bolster their points tally.
Despite Lions’ commendable performances under Hayford’s guidance, the club currently finds itself in the relegation zone, sitting in 17th place on the league table with 21 points.
Following their recent defeat to Hearts of Oak, Hayford expressed determination for his side to bounce back and claim victory on home soil against Goldstars.
“We are preparing for them, and hopefully, once we are also playing at home, we will make sure we double up our effort and get the three points,” he stated.
In their previous outing, Lions squandered their lead as Hearts of Oak staged a remarkable comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over the Premier League returnees.
With four wins, nine draws, and nine defeats recorded after 22 matches in the domestic top-flight this season, Lions are eager to turn the tide and secure a crucial win against Goldstars to improve their position in the league standings.
