Heart of Lions have officially opened negotiations with Hohoe United center-back Kwame Paul as they look to strengthen their defensive department ahead of the upcoming season.

The highly-rated defender has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in his position following a series of impressive performances for Hohoe United. His consistency, defensive awareness, aerial dominance, and leadership qualities have reportedly attracted attention from several clubs across the country.

Sources close to the situation reveal that Heart of Lions have taken concrete steps in their pursuit of the defender and are currently leading the race for his signature. Discussions between the parties have commenced, with the Kpando-based club eager to secure an agreement before competition from other interested clubs intensifies.

Kwame Paul is regarded as a modern center-back capable of combining physical strength with composure on the ball. His ability to organize the backline and deliver solid defensive performances has made him a key figure for Hohoe United, earning him admiration from scouts and technical teams across the domestic football scene.

For Heart of Lions, the move aligns with the club’s ambition to build a stronger and more competitive squad for the new campaign. Strengthening the defense remains one of the club’s priorities, and Kwame Paul has been identified as a player capable of adding quality, experience, and stability to the team.

Although negotiations are still ongoing and no final agreement has been reached, Heart of Lions remain optimistic about their chances of completing the deal. The club is understood to be working diligently to convince the defender to make the switch ahead of the start of the new season.

With interest from multiple clubs still present, the race for Kwame Paul’s signature remains open. However, as things stand, Heart of Lions are firmly in pole position and are pushing hard to bring the talented center-back to Kpando.

Heart of Lions lead the race for Kwame Paul as negotiations continue.
