Danish side FC Nordsjaelland have been dealt a major blow ahead of their pre-season training camp, as promising Ghanaian talent Araphat Mohammed has suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury.
The 19-year-old winger picked up the injury during the final minutes of a training match against AC Horsens last Saturday. A late challenge during the game left Araphat in visible pain, and medical checks later confirmed the devastating news: a cruciate ligament tear in his knee.
As a result, the talented youngster has been ruled out indefinitely and was unable to travel with the rest of the Superliga squad to their training camp in Austria. This setback is particularly tough, as Araphat had returned strongly from the summer break and was showing great form in pre-season.
Football Director Alexander Riget expressed the club’s sadness over the incident:
“We are very sorry for Araphat. He had come back well after the summer break and was doing well in pre-season, and it’s just hard when bad luck strikes like that. But we will of course do everything we can to help him get back as strong and as quickly as possible.”
The injury is a tough break for a player who has shown great potential and dedication, but FC Midtjylland have assured that Araphat will receive the best possible care and support during his recovery.
