Hearts of Oak’s Board of Directors has established an Investigative Committee to delve into allegations of bribery involving certain players during the recently concluded season.
These allegations suggest that some players from Hearts of Oak were involved in a match-fixing incident, prompting the formation of a committee dedicated to investigating the claims and uncovering the truth.
According to sources, the committee’s inaugural meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday at the World Trade Centre in Accra, specifically on the 14th floor.
The committee plans to summon both witnesses and suspects involved in order to gather relevant testimonies and evidence.
Hearts of Oak’s performance in the season was disappointing, with the team finishing in 12th place and garnering 46 points. As a result, discontent has arisen among both players and supporters due to the team’s underwhelming results.
The committee is composed of two esteemed Board Members, Justice Ivy Heward Mills and Dr. Nyaho Tama, alongside a high-ranking official from the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and two legal professionals.
The committee’s primary objective is to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations of bribery, seeking to establish the truth behind the claims. As a prominent football club, Hearts of Oak remains committed to upholding the integrity of the game and ensuring fair play.
The committee’s findings will be instrumental in addressing any misconduct and taking appropriate measures to safeguard the club’s reputation.
