Ghanaian striker Inaki Williams’ exceptional goal scored against Real Sociedad in a La Liga matchday 29 fixture has been voted as Athletic Bilbao’s goal of the 2022/23 season.

The prestigious award was determined through an online poll, considering the club’s Goal of the Month winners throughout the season, and Williams emerged as the winner in a closely contested vote.

The goal that secured Williams’ victory on the roll of honor was a remarkable strike. It unfolded when Real Sociedad’s corner was easily cleared, allowing Athletic Bilbao to launch a swift counterattack. Williams received the ball as the team surged forward, and with incredible skill, he unleashed a powerful shot from a narrow angle that soared into the top of the net. The goal showcased Williams’ talent and left a lasting impression on fans and pundits alike.

This achievement holds special significance for the 28-year-old forward, as he not only secured the Goal of the Season accolade but also contributed to his team’s success. In 42 games in all competitions for Athletic Club, Inaki Williams netted 11 goals and assisted 5 times for the Basque club.
